Why remnant fabric?
In our own workshop in Cuijk we make the garden furniture of our sister brand Falain.nl. We keep the strips of Sunbrella® fabric left over and cut them into cushion covers. Every remnant is finite, so when it's gone, it's gone.

The Aveleon Solids lead chiné cushion is a water-repellent grey cushion of 45×45 cm with a Sunbrella® Solids cover, for anyone who wants a cushion that hardly fades in the sun and can handle a rain shower. - A lounge set or garden bench in the sun, where ordinary cushions fade after one summer.
- Anyone who wants to leave cushions outside in summer instead of carrying them in at every shower.
- Indoors on the sofa, with children or pets: the cover is washable.
Less suitable if
- you need a waterproof cushion that can lie in the rain or a puddle for days. The fabric is water-repellent, not waterproof.
- you need another size or want to reorder exactly this colour later. We only make 45×45 and every end-of-roll batch is gone when it's gone.
What this cushion solves
Hardly fades in the sun
With Sunbrella the colour goes into the material before it is spun into yarn. There is no dye layer on top that can fade.

Handles a rain shower
The fabric has a water-repellent finish, so drops bead off. The hollow-fibre inner cushion releases moisture again.
Fact: water-repellent, not waterproof. After long rain, stand it upright to dry with the zip open.
Stains and mould come out
Because the colour is in the fibre, the cover can be washed and even treated with diluted bleach, following Sunbrella's advice.
Fact: cover washable at 30 °C, no tumble dryer.
Firm and holds its shape
A heavier fabric feels fuller and keeps the cushion nicely in shape.

Strengths and weaknesses
Strong

Questions about this cushion
Can this cushion stay outside?
Yes, during the outdoor season, as long as it can dry after a shower. The fabric is water-repellent, not waterproof. In days of rain and in winter, store it dry.
Does Solids lead chiné fade in the sun?
Hardly. With Sunbrella the colour is in the fibre itself, not on top. Sunbrella gives a 5-year warranty on the fabric, including against colour loss.
Can I wash the cover?
Yes. The cover has a zip and can go in the washing machine at 30 °C, not in the tumble dryer. For stubborn stains: washing and cleaning Sunbrella cushions (in Dutch).
Is this genuine Sunbrella fabric?
Yes. The cover is Sunbrella® solids lead chiné 3756. We cut it from end-of-roll fabric from our own furniture workshop. Aveleon is not affiliated with Glen Raven, the maker of Sunbrella.
Why does this cushion cost less than other Sunbrella cushions?
Because we don't buy new fabric. We use strips and rolls left over from making lounge sets in our workshop in Cuijk. That makes every colour limited: gone is gone.

Sunbrella® is an American premium outdoor fabric, woven by Glen Raven since 1961. The secret: the color isn't dyed onto the fabric, it's in the fiber itself. That's why you'll find this fabric on boats, under awnings and on the world's most expensive outdoor furniture — and now on your terrace too.
